Q2. What is the ED visa program?

Our 1-year ED visa program is starting at 30,000 baht tuition fee (for 300 hours of study) + 2,000 baht document fee.  ALA will assist you to complete the application and submission to the Ministry of Education. Students usually can stay in Thailand for 12-14 months, if they complete school studies.

Q3. How do I apply for an ED visa?

Students will need to travel outside of Thailand to visit any Thai embassy after the Ministry of Education approves your submission. ALA will assist to prepare your document so all you need to do is to present at Embassy with the paperwork and regular government fee. (between 1-2,000 baht usually)

All students need to provide ALA with a valid passport, 2-inch visa photos x12, and 50% of tuition fee + 100% document fee.  The 2nd half of the tuition fee must be paid right after the Ministry of Education approval. Applicants can start the process without coming to Thailand but additional time and mailing fees are expected.

Some students may need additional documents, please visit our school or simply check any Thai embassy official website.

Q4.  How are the classes taught?

Our Thai group classes are 2 hours per session.  We start at 9 am from Mon-Fri, and the last class of the day starts at 7 pm if you are busy during the daytime!

At ALA, our beginner classes are taught in Thai Phonetic symbols, so our students can use the least time to get the fastest results.  It will take a few days to learn Phonetics, but once you’ve learned, you can immediately use the content you’ve learned on any given day!

After students are familiar with Phonetics, our writing classes then will prepare our students to smoothly transfer what they’ve learned from Phonetics to real Thai alphabets. Intermediate writing and speaking classes will also teach students in Thai grammar and advanced sentence structure so students can understand daily Thai language usages in all dimensions.

ALA also teaches students for Advance Reading with newspaper, short stories, novels, etc.

Q5. How long does it take to learn Thai at ALA?

Our classes are mostly flexible and can fit into your schedule perfectly!

Our Speaking classes are 140 hours, the total for 70 school days. Students are requested to learn the first 10 days continuously. After that, each level is 10 days session and students are not required to come in daily (only the time they are available).

Our Writing classes are 120 hours, the total for 60 school days.  Students are recommended to come in daily for every session, but not necessary.

Q6. Do you have any advanced classes?

Yes! We do have special classes for Thai Competency Test and Advance Reading! The special class will be available only if students sign up and list in first!
